Blue progress

If you’ve spent a whole weekend quilting like a maniac, with lovely friends, and you get back to your real life of busy families, work deadlines, beginnings of terms, new courses, and the ever-real need to actually fit in some sleep, what do you do to keep the creative process alive? After the monster blue was finished, I knew I couldn’t make one completely the same. I’d get much too bored. But how about a sort of sister quilt, with blue and white half-square triangles, perhaps in some sort of simple pattern? So as I had some 5” squares left over, I have started to collect some more. So this is just the beginning of a work in progress, I suppose…

Sorted into light and dark, roughly, because that seemed a good system to make sure no two same squares end up adjacent

Now, all I need to do is find another couple of hundred blue and white squares, and a few evenings of peace. But maybe at this point, just peering at the squares, petting them now and then, and roughly tidying my sewing table in the corner of the sitting room, will have to be enough.

Happy sewing! JJ
