Le Challenge asks for geometrics — and because I always knew my Challenge would be quilting, it was always going to be pretty easy to say this was très très géométrique. Most quilting usually is. So it had to be a proper technical challenging challenge for me instead. I have always wanted to make a star quilt, but got rather stuck in squares. Nothing wrong with squares: I still think squares are wonderful. But the real challenge came with making my first star quilt in one week, with only evenings after work available. So, one week later, and not enough sleep to really feel human any more, and with the help of Ms E, I can say that my challenge is indeed completed. Whether the resident mathematician, Mr T, feels this qualifies as real geometry is anyone’s guess. I certainly feel très fatiguée mais très contente. Défi remporté, il me semble! Des étoiles de l’Ohio et tout plein de bouts de tissus divers.
Joyeuse couture, my dears. And thank you for the little push to challenge the usual comfort zones. JJ
