Patchworky birthday aprons

A certain very small person is going to be 4 around here, so four small people will be coming to tea. Rather daringly, I am going to try to make homemade “Nutella” with them. I found the perfect patchworky waxed cotton to make small aprons. It takes about three minutes to make one, using tape and zig-zagging the edges to sew it on and neaten up. Why didn’t I think of this before? The local Coop sells a metre of the stuff (about 2 metres wide) for CHF 11.95. Amazing! Luckily I think I have enough to make myself one too…

Wish us luck for the weather: we will be making chocolate spread, decorating cupcakes, eating too many of them, and then we will take six sugar-filled children across the road to the park to make giant bubbles. Now what happens if it rains? Chocolate painting of the walls, no doubt… So now I have to make more aprons in various sizes from super mini to adult-sized. Oh what fun! JJ

These are so sweet looking! As my girls are sitting at the table painting and making a royal mess, I’m thinking these are a necessity!

Love the apron, that fabric is a bargain and so pretty. Fingers crossed for good weather … Sarah x
