The bears came over (and down) the mountain

Chalet lifeWe came back down from our Swiss mountain yesterday, after a couple of weeks of rustic life in our little chalet. We are so lucky to have a small, but simply perfect, little wooden chalet up in the Jura. The view over the lake and the Alps is superb, and living without a bathroom, running water, or any modern conveniences is such a refreshing change from urban life. Perfectly Heidi-ish. This is a rare shot of a quiet moment. We set up these beds for the visit by my most wonderful mother and grandmother.

The fence at the back of this photo is terribly necessary: this chalet is on the edge of a huge cliff! Not ideal for small children, but it certainly guarantees an unbeatable view.

I even had a couple of moments of quiet time to stitch some hexies, one day. Complete update to follow, hopefully, when I have finished stitching my lovely not-so-secret-anymore quilt for the wonderful Ms E!

Happy stitching! JJ
