Warm, warm toes

Little Mr A was so thrilled to get a parcel in the post from his beloved Grandma.

SocksMy lovely mother has knitted another perfectly sized pair of socks for our lucky family. There are fewer nice things than a pair of handknitted socks. So now I have my own, Miss R has one, and now even the littlest person in this family is kitted out. Let is snow!

(Edited to add group toe photo. Can you spot whose are whose?)

I agree, hand knitted socks are perfect for these cold winter days.

I take it your mum only buys one colour of wool then… 😉

    • Actually, Katy, I bought it thinking two balls for her hoping this might make one pair of socks for me. But that was a wild underestimate. I think it is thankfully finished now, so I can buy some more to gift her with a cheeky, but immensely grateful, smile. On the other hand, I picked up a magazine about making socks in crochet (which I am much better at than knitting) so perhaps it’s my turn to clothe the family!

You’re lucky to have a relative that knits socks. I buy mine and now I can’t seem to locate the same ones I bought years ago. They have seen better days and I keep darning them. I even briefly thought about learning to knit just so I can make my own. When I started reading the instructions, I said nevermind. I can’t see myself setting aside time to knit.
